Building the Athletic House-Slap the Net
We hope coaches take the approach that they are going to help each of their players become better athletes and help build their "athletic house."
Slap the Net:
Slap the Net can be used as a warm-up and is a good activity to help develop coordination, lay-up footwork, and strength.
"85 in 2"
This is a full-court team lay-up drill from Arizona State University Men's Team. It is a conditioner but also serves more to bring the team together.
Slides
Slides are an effective technique to finish near the basket because the ball is usually protected from help defenders. The other advantage to a slide is the on-ball defender usually has a difficult time recovering because the driver slides across the path of recovery.
Sideline to Sideline Touches
During the off-season players are in need of drills that can be run with a conditioning element to them. "Sideline Touches" incorporates quality shooting with conditioning work similar to a basketball game.
